Welcome to Aglow StanDard Poodles!
We are NOT a kennel, but a small home breeder of AKC health tested standard poodles. We have been breeding standard poodles since 2001 with an emphasis on producing puppies that excel in a wide variety of service dog roles, as Emotional Support Animals, as Therapy dogs or as consummate family companions.
Our puppies are home raised using Puppy Culture early socialization protocols as well as Early Scent Introductions (ESI) to insure a very well socialized and confident dog. I feel it is absolutely the best start possible for any puppy. We also do formal temperament testing, which is done by a 3rd party animal behaviorist.
We are very proud of our exceptional puppies from our healthy and health tested adult poodles. Through the years, many of our puppies have earned AKC and/or UKC titles in the following categories: Therapy Dog, Obedience, Home Manners, FCAT, Rally, Barn Hunt, Conformation, Canine Good Citizen, Dock diving, Agility, FitDog, AKC Fetch and Trick Dog. Standard poodles are truly a versatile breed!
Our adult dogs are each health tested for hip, cardiac, eye exams, and genetics clearances with the results then publicly recorded with OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). Each of our adult dogs are tested beyond the recommended OFA CHIC health standards. Our adult dogs also have each received AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) titles and most are also finished Champions and Grand Champions. We are located on the beautiful St. Clair River, an international waterway between the USA and Canada, in eastern Michigan. Delivery throughout the USA is available.
All of our standard poodle puppies are placed with:
*AKC registration along with 30 days of complimentary pet insurance from AKC once your puppy is registered
*A written health guarantee and a bill of sale
*Our veterinarian completes age appropriate shots/wormings as well as health checks, and your puppy leaves with all vet records
*Your puppy will come home microchipped
* You will receive our generous welcome home package containing a puppy food welcome kit, several treats and a few new toys that your puppy loves all packed in our logo bag
* A blanket scented by Mom and your puppy's littermates to help ease the transition period
I am a committed breeder, and I will remain available as a resource throughout your standard poodle's lifetime.

Certifying that their breeding stock is health tested in accordance with the recommendation of their breed's AKC Breed Parent Club.

About me...
I am so glad you made it to this page! My name is Shawn and I have been breeding standard poodles since 2001 and it is truly a joy! I love raising puppies, knowing that these first weeks they spend with us are very important. Matching a puppy to her forever family is very rewarding. I breed only standard poodles; no other breed holds my heart the same way as standards.
Our puppies are lovingly raised in our home. They are well socialized, started on potty training and ready to join your family. I make every effort to offer the most physically sound poodles I can by doing responsible health testing that is also publicly registered with OFA. Our adult dogs have each received OFA CHIC health testing certifications. This testing includes: Hips (using PennHip and/or OFA), yearly eye exams, Cardiac Exams, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Von Willebrand's Disease Type I (VWD1), Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-PRCD), and Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE). Our dogs are negative, not carriers nor are they affected by these diseases. Cardiac and eye exam results are "normal". I look for the same testing results in any potential stud dog I may pair with one of my girls. Additionally, I use a program called "Better Bred" with DNA testing completed by UC Davis to ensure that I am making the most genetically diverse pairings to produce health and long lived offspring. I am so grateful for this recent technology and the POWERFUL tool it is to a breeder! It gives insight that reviewing a pedigree alone simply cannot.
